Your personal calendar
Your complete diary, notes, sick days, rota and overtime are saved in this browser on this device. Exported backups contain those personal records; keep them private. Clearing browser data or losing the device can remove them.
Optional Google Calendar sync
If you connect Google, DutyChecker sends only your duty date, duty code and official start/end times through its server to a separate DutyChecker calendar in your Google account.
Notes and sick days are never sent to Google Calendar. Rest days, holidays, overtime, work totals and your five-week rota are also excluded. Replacing a synced duty with another day type removes the event without sending that day type.
Google handles your sign-in. DutyChecker never receives your Google password and does not request your email, profile, contacts, Drive or access to your other calendars.
The revocable authorization is encrypted in a Secure, HttpOnly cookie in this browser for up to 90 days. It is processed by the server when syncing, is not included in diary backups and is not written to DutyChecker's database. We keep the access limited to calendars created by this app.
Your controls
Connecting syncs your saved duties and future changes. DutyChecker is the source: changes you make directly in Apple or Google Calendar do not edit your DutyChecker diary.
Turning Calendar sync off revokes the Google authorization. Events already sent remain in Google until you delete them there. A protected cookie may retain the calendar's identifier so reconnecting can reuse it, without retaining the authorization token. You can also remove DutyChecker access from your Google Account.
On iPhone, Apple Calendar can display this Google account. The synced events are stored by Google and covered by Google's privacy policy. Google sync is not a backup of your complete DutyChecker diary.
Reports, suggestions and hosting
Duty error reports and suggestions are separate from your personal diary. Submitted messages and their timestamps are stored for the site owner to review. Avoid names, contact information and medical details in those submissions. Those records currently have no automatic expiry.
The hosting provider may process technical request information to deliver and protect the service. Calendar sync does not collect usage analytics or location profiles.
For privacy questions, use the Suggestions button in DutyChecker. Please avoid personal or medical details.
